Hi, this is MAHARI!
“I came to Japan, but I don’t know how to find a job…”
“I can’t speak Japanese very well, but I wonder if there’s a job…”
I understand you want to find a job, but you don’t know what to do.
Based on my husband’s experience, I will introduce “How to find a job for foreigners“.
Search on the internet!
In Japan, Hello Work introduces you to jobs for free.
Maybe some people heard to go to Hello Work at the government office.
However, relying only on Hello Work does not guarantee finding your job.
If you have a smartphone or a PC, use the Internet to search for jobs!
You will find job sites and recruitment agencies when you search for “Job in Japan” on Google.
SNS/Recruitment Site
Recently, corporate recruiters and recruitment agencies are using SNS to recruit for jobs.
I think Facebook is a very good tool that can be used when you want to find a job easily.
If you search for “Job in Japan” or “Work for foreigners” on Facebook, you will find many job information.
We also have a group dedicated to recruiting, so please take advantage of it.

My husband found his current job through Facebook!
Recently, LinkedIn has started to be used in Japan, but there are many full-time jobs and foreign-affiliated companies.
It is not suitable for people looking for a part-time job, but it is recommended for those who want to improve their skills in Japan.
Indeed
Indeed is a job search engine, so it seems like a “Google that only searches for jobs“.
You can see a list of jobs posted on various job sites.
It supports multilingual and is recommended for people who want to find a wide range of jobs.
Job sites for Foreigners
There are several major job search sites in Japan, but not many of them support foreign languages.
In addition, job sites for foreigners may be biased toward the jobs posted, so please check if there are jobs you want before registering.

FAQ
What is the best flow to find jobs?
There are many recruitment sites and recruitment agencies for foreigners in Japan.
However, there is a bias in job types and forms of employment.
Therefore, I don’t recommend looking for a job with registration on the site from the beginning.
First, use Facebook or the job sites mentioned above to find out what jobs are available.
“Don’t register on a job site“,
Once you’ve found jobs you’d like to apply for, make sure to register your information when you apply for.

You may register the following items on the recruitment site;
・Your name
・Job history
・Qualifications
・Self-promotion items
When my husband was job hunting for a full-time job, it took me quite a while to register his information.
What is the “daily conversation level”?
In job postings for foreigners, it is written the Japanese level required for the job.
The problem here is how much “daily conversation” is.
The definition of “daily conversation” is so hard, but I hope you can think of it as being able to communicate at work.
According to the guideline of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test, it’s probably about N3 to N4.
The level required by the company is different,
such as “You should be able to introduce yourself” in “daily conversation”
or “You must be able to use honorifics.”
The final decision will be made at the interview.
Even if you don’t have JLPT qualifications or don’t have much confidence in your Japanese, let’s apply for jobs that interest you!
Finally
How was it?
This time, I introduced how to find a job in Japan.
A resume is required when applying for a job or interviewing.
The resume template is in fixed form In Japan, so I would like to introduce how to write it next time.
Thank you for reading to the end!
